Overview

Matt is a Partner in WH Burkley’s Real Estate Group, where he advises clients across all stages of real estate transactions, including land development, land use, and zoning matters. Matt also represents both landlords and tenants in leasing matters spanning retail centers, industrial and office assets, residential developments, and a broad range of commercial projects. He is known for his practical, business-focused approach — helping clients navigate challenges efficiently while keeping transactions aligned with their strategic objectives.

In addition to his real estate practice, Matt regularly advises clients on commercial and corporate matters as an outside general counsel, including the acquisition, disposition, and exchange of assets. He regularly drafts and negotiates contracts tailored to diverse business needs, and counsels clients on corporate formation, governance, risk management, and day-to-day operational issues that help support long-term growth.

He further maintains a robust oil and gas practice, advising on title rights, title curative matters, and the leasing and conveyance of mineral interests.
